2. Public Hearing - Proposed abatement of public nuisance <br />- 3426 and 3466 Rolison Road (702 -11) (continued open <br />from 8/18/86) <br />Reports: Chief Building Official and Community <br />Development Director 8/12/86 and 12/12/86 <br />Mayor Claire noted that the public hearing is still open. <br />John LaTorra, Building Official, reviewed the report and answered questions <br />from Council regarding the status of the repairs. <br />Jerry Schnell, Building Inspector, responded to questions noting that there <br />is still lots of debris around the property, that some work is being done but <br />not all is being done correctly. <br />Mayor Claire asked if there was anyone in the audience who wished to speak. <br />Eva Cuevas, 3426 Rolison, with the aid of interpreter Doreen Wagner, <br />455 Crescent Avenue, Sunnyvale, listed the repairs that have been done, <br />stating that it is better than it was. She said it would be difficult for <br />the tenants to find another place to live if the building is destroyed. <br />Lucia Soto, 3456 Rolison, with the aid of the interpreter, spoke <br />against having the buildings destroyed and said they have had meetings with <br />the Police Chief about the problems and he is helping to correct some of the <br />problems there. <br />Father Joe Frazier, 1710 Cramer Avenue, Menlo Park, asked that the <br />building not be destroyed, that the violations must be corrected, and perhaps <br />the owner should get professional help. <br />Rafael Castillo, 310 Semici <br />Parish, with the assistance <br />buildings and said that the <br />neighborhood. In answer to <br />that it would be helpful if <br />trash pick -up dates, etc. <br />^cle Road, Menlo Park, from St. Anthonys <br />of the interpretor, spoke against destroying the <br />tenants are helping to improve the property and <br />suggestion from Council, Mr. Castillo agreed <br />the City provided the tenants with rules, <br />Ken Graham, 3426 Rollison, owner of the property, spoke of the repairs <br />that he has done. He advised that he has contracted with PG &E to do <br />weatherization. He said he needs more time to finish the 40% of work left to <br />be done. <br />In response to question regarding the electrical work, Mr. Graham said he has <br />installed new thermostats and valves, and that he believes the number of <br />outlets are adequate. <br />Mayor Claire asked if anyone else wished to speak.
