Item No. 1 (continued) <br />Vice Mayor Mosher declared the public hearing open at 7:34 p.m. <br />Philip Assaf, bond counsel of Wilson, Morton, Assaf & McElligott, San Mateo, <br />distributed a copy of the bid on the bonds from Birr, Wilson & Co., Inc. and <br />a schedule of the net effective interest rates to Council. <br />Vice Mayor Mosher invited anyone else who wished to speak to do so. No one <br />wished to speak. <br />M /S: Stangel /Bury to close the public hearing. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote and public hearing closed at 7 :36 p.m. <br />City Clerk Hildebrand reported that no written protests have been received. <br />Title read. A RESOLUTION NO. 10046 AWARDING SALE OF IMPROVEMENTS BONDS (BIRR, <br />WILSON & CO., INC.) <br />Adopted unanimously by roll call vote. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />1) Gus Pappas, 587 Seahorse Lane, reported he has visited the Crime Prevention <br />van stationed in Redwood Shores recently and wished to commend the Police <br />Department for the fine exhibit. <br />2) Gladys Woodhams, 601 Melville Avenue, Palo Alto, owner of 1018 Main Street, <br />and member of the Historic Resources Board, referred to the condemnation of <br />the building at 109 Wilson Street as a public nuisance and directing <br />reconstruction or removal thereof. (See Resolution No. 10037, adopted <br />10/21/85) Mrs. Woodhams said that the property is known as the "Rolla House" <br />and has historic value. She asked that the abatement of nuisance period be <br />extended beyond 30 days pending arrangements being made to preserve the <br />building. <br />In response to question, City Attorney Schricker said that the City has no <br />involvement or authority over the property at this time and that the <br />resolution related to Code compliance. He said that Mrs. Woodhams might wish <br />to meet with the private owner of the property regarding any plan to preserve <br />the house.
