Item No.1 (continued)

The representative from MARDEV, developers, assured the Board of their
interest in proceeding with their plan, describing their investment of
considerable time and money~ and their having made presentations to the
Council; that they are now just short of the tentative map stage~ and now need
to know what is required of them so that they can proceed.

Brief discussion followed regarding the procedure for amending the General
Plan; whether such amendment would have an effect on the property owners, and
the fact that the process involves public hearings which will give the
opportunity for those affected to corrment. City Manager Smith emphasized that
only the Marina Sub-Area is concerned in this discussion, and the property
southerly of Maple Street is not included. He also pointed out that two
additional issues to be considered relate to the request of Pacific Readi-Mix
that the portion of their property within the redevelopment area be deleted
from the area, and also potential relocation of the jail facilities, costs
involved, and whether relocation is feasible.

Chairman Britschgi determined it to be the consensus of the Board that at the
next regular Redevelopment Agency meeting~ an item is to be on the agenda
directing the Planning Commission to amend the General Plan for the Marina
Sub-Area.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ADJOUR~ENT

There being no further business the Redevelopment Agency adjourned at 8:40 p.m.

FRANCES I.
