Item No. 1 (continued)
Mayor Britschgi declared the public hearing open at 8:44 P.M.
Affidavit of publication and of posting notice reported on file.
Mayor Britschgi invited anyone present who wished to speak to do so. No one
wished to speak.
M /S: Claire /Bury to close the public hearing.
Carried unanimously be voice vote, and public hearing closed at 8:45 p.m.
Title read. M /S: Claire /Chandler
RESOLUTION NO. 10086 VACATING PORTIONS OF A WIRE CLEARANCE EASEMENT AND
PUBLIC UTILITIES EASEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH PART 3 OF DIVISION 9, STREETS
AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
adopted unanimously by roll call vote.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - --
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
1. Marc Watson, 1418 Middlefield, No. 2, requested that he be given a little
more time to rehabilitate the building at 109 Wilson, which is scheduled to
be demolished under abatement proceedings; that he intends to move it to
another lot, but time is running out and he would like an extension.
Building Official Malkemus recalled that the matter was before Council about
eight weeks ago for abatement proceedings; that after it comes under the
jurisdiction of the Building Department, the procedure is to seek bids for
demolition, but that because of the holidays, none have been received as yet;
that the building is 110 years old, but has not been placed on the historic
designation list although he understands action is taking place to do so.
Discussion followed regarding the effect of giving the building a historic
designation; the fact that prior action would need to be rescinded; that
moving the building to another location in Redwood City or elsewhere requires
separate proceedings.
Mayor Britschgi asked that staff report back to Council at the first meeting
in January (1/6/86) as to status of the building at 109 Wilson Street.
MEMO 12/20/85
Ken Rolandell i, 2466 Oregon Avenue, supported the request of Mr. Watson for
extension of time, and advised that the address is now included in the
historic inventory list.
Gladys E. Woodhams, 1018 Main Street, stated that the building is the Rolla
House, that she supported the request of Mr. Watson, and provided historic
background regarding it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - --
Reg.Mtg.
12/16/85
Page 2
MINUTE BOOK NO. 46
Page No. 121
