standards. <br /> <br />Alternative <br />Lagoon management and maintenance services are necessary for the City to comply with <br />regulatory requirements of the Regional Water Quality Control Board. Council is not <br />obligated to extend the term of the Agreement with Waterworks Industries. Council could <br />direct staff to begin a competitive bid process; however, we are nearing the start of the <br />heaviest maintenance period. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />The total FY 01/02 budget approved by Council for lagoon management is $205,000 <br />(funded by GID 1-64 Maintenance District assessments). The remaining balance of <br />$119,257.00 will carry the contract through June 30, 2002. The budget request for FY 02- <br />03 contains $235,000 to support lagoon maintenance services.
