M /S: Chandler /Mosher <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9780 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR VETERANS BOULEVARD AND <br />WHIPPLE AVENUE CHANNELIZATION PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR <br />BIDS THEREFOR <br />adopted unanimously by roll call vote. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />8. Approval of plans, specifications, call for bids - 1984 <br />Street Light Rewiring Project (702 -02) <br />Report of City Manager and Director of Public Works 1/17/85 <br />Director of Public Works Addiego presented the subject report using slides of <br />the affected area to indicate the problem and proposed improvements. <br />Discussion followed and Mr. Addiego replied to questions and commented <br />concerning the desire of the City to eliminate the frequent power outages <br />affecting street lights in the neighborhood; the plans for notifying <br />residents; the two week maximum anticipated to complete each section of the <br />project during which time no street lights would be operating in the affected <br />section; the desirability of coordinating police patrol of the section where <br />street lights are under repair; and the possibility of offering an incentive <br />to the contractor to complete the job as quickly as possible. <br />CONSENSUS: Mayor Britschgi determined it to be the consensus of Council to <br />offer the contractor who is awarded the bid to do the Street Light Rewiring <br />Project an incentive bonus for early completion of the work. <br />(MEMO 1/25/85) <br />Title read.
