ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />Leo Crawford, 356 Topaz Street, reported that on Saturday, February 23, 1985, <br />American Legion Post 105 and the Peninsula Times Tribune co- sponsored the <br />"Outstanding Citizen" Award and introduced Vincent Truscelli, the recipient <br />of this year's award. Mr. Crawford thanked the members of the City Council <br />for their assistance in making the event successful. <br />Vincent Truscelli, retired police officer and "Outstanding Citizen of Redwood <br />City" for 1985 stated his appreciation of the award and introduced his wife <br />Pau li ne. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />3. Park and Recreation Commission recommendation re Linden <br />Park (1302 -02) <br />Report of City Manager and Director of Parks and Recreation 2/21/85 <br />Director of Parks and Recreation Griffiths presented the subject report and <br />referred to the architect's sketch of the proposed park. Mr. Griffiths <br />commented on the active assistance of neighbors in planning the park. <br />In response to question, City Manager Smith said that the additional funds <br />needed for the park were available from the Economic Development Corporation <br />Community Development Block Grant Funds, because the project for which they <br />are intended has not developed. <br />In response to question, Mr. Griffiths said that his department staff and <br />volunteers from among the neighbors expected to be able to do the necessary <br />demolition work which is valued at some $11,000. <br />M /S: Chandler /Mosher to approve the recommendation of the Park and <br />Recreation Commission for the design of the park and to proceed with the <br />project with thanks to the neighbors for their participation. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 85 -21 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />REPORTS OF CITY MANAGER <br />4.
