Waste to Energy (305 -03) <br />City Manager Smith briefly described the background and discussions with the <br />City and County of San Francisco regarding a waste energy facility and the <br />interest of Combustion Engineering Co. (CE) in a site near the Port. Mr. <br />Smith noted that the facility would be an alternative to land fill, might <br />result in reduced rates to residents and should provide a financial benefit <br />to the City. He said that Mayor Britschgi had invited CE to make a <br />presentation on their plans in Redwood City. <br />CONSENSUS: Mayor Britschgi determined it to be the consensus of Council to <br />hold a Joint Meeting of the City Council, the Planning Commission, the Board <br />of Port Commissioners and the public for the purpose of having a presentation <br />by Combustion Engineering Company on Tuesday, March 12, 1985, at the Veterans <br />Building at 7:30 p.m., if possible. <br />MEMO 3/7/85 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />Reg.
