7.1 Council Member compensation (Addition to the Agenda) (301-08) Councilman Chandler, member of the Council Personnel Committee, reported that California State law was changed effective January 1, 1985, to allow compensation of $500 per month for City Council Members in cities of 50- 75,000 population. The Committee determined in its studies that Redwood 4 City is well below the average in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties, and therefore propose increasing City Council compensation in Redwood City to $375 per month effective June 1, 1985.
