Transportation Capital Improvement (continued) <br />Continued discussion related to the condition of Chestnut Street; the fact that <br />the Page- Hoover - Rolison Road areas are proposed to be within an assessment <br />district in connection with the proposed Fifth Avenue Storm Drain project. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL SUPPORT AND PROTECTION, (Pages 37 and 38) <br />City Manager Smith indicated that streets will be posted regarding street sweeping <br />on a trial basis to determine public reaction, in response to a suggestion by <br />Council. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL SUPPORT & PROTECTION CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS (Pages 45 & 46) <br />Cordilleras Creek Improvements was briefly discussed, being a joint project of <br />Redwood City, San Carlos and the County, and Assistant to the City Manager <br />Margolis stated that this is only the second year funding and that it is a much <br />larger project than it appears to be in this budget. It was noted that Councilmen <br />Stangel and Claire are Council's representatives to meet with the San Carlos <br />Council. <br />Discussion followed regarding an Emerald Lake Water Improvement Study, and Mr. <br />Addiego advised that requests for water line connections in Emerald Lakes have <br />been turned down because of the inadequacy of water lines in the County area. <br />LEISURE, CULTURAL AND INFORMATION SERVICES (Page 47) <br />With reference to Senior Services, the proposal to fund the total cost of an <br />Assistant Center Supervisor, previously half funded by the Senior Advisory <br />Council, was questioned. <br />M /S: Stangel/ to continue half funding for the Assistant Center Supervisor <br />position as in the past. <br />City Manager Smith advised that this is a significant issue with the seniors, and <br />that they feel strongly about it, and Director of Human Services Irizarry said <br />that the Senior Affairs Commission did support the recommendation, and that a very <br />high level of services is being provided by that position. <br />M /S: Mosher /Chandler to assume the full cost of an Assistant Center Supervisor as <br />recommended. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the Council adjourned the Budget <br />Study Session at 3:35 p.m. to Monday, June 24, 1985, at 4:00 p.m. at the Municipal <br />Services Center. <br />FRANCES I.
