Housing Rehabilitation Loan Committee (301 -11) <br />Councilman Biagi, Committee Member, presented the subject report. <br />In response to questions, Housing Coordinator Church said that loans could <br />be made citywide in the future, but that concentration was expected to be <br />in the area indicated on the map attached to the subject report. <br />M /S: Bury /Mosher to accept the Housing Rehabilitation Loan Committee <br />Report dated January 6, 1984 and the recommendations contained therein. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. Street Tree Maintenance - additional appropriation (1302 -03) <br />Report of City Manager and Director of Parks and Recreation 1/16/84 <br />Report of Forestry Supervisor 1/4/84 <br />City Manager Smith presented the subject report and stated that a report <br />covering a long range street tree /sidewalk program will be presented to <br />Council on January 23. In response to question, Mr. Smith said that the <br />subject report recommends an emergency appropriation for repairs because <br />of recent heavy storm damage. <br />In response to questions, Director of Parks and Recreation Griffiths <br />stated that wind storms of December 3 and 4, 1983 caused serious tree <br />damage and created possible liability for the City, as well as damage to <br />trees. <br />Steve Blumenkranz, 106 Park, introduced his neighbors who were in the <br />audience and urged the Council to allocate the required funds for <br />emergency tree trimming and repairs. <br />M /S: Biagi /Claire to approve the supplemental appropriation of $50,864 <br />for General Street Tree Maintenance ($40,864) and Specialized Pruning and <br />Removals ($10,000) as described in the City Manager's Report of <br />January 16, 1984. <br />Carried by majority voice vote which Mayor Stangel determined to be 6 -1. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 84 -15 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />4.
