GENERAL (continued) <br />4. Councilman Bury reported that he had attended the meeting of the Community <br />Development Committee of the League of California Cities on January 13, 1984 <br />with Planning Commissioner Rowe and that the subject addressed by the com- <br />mittee had to do with housing and with the apparent resistance of PG &E.Company <br />to funding underground improvements. He stated that he will bring material on <br />both subjects to the Legislative Committee for consideration. <br />5. Mayor Stangel reported that Councilmen Biagi, Bury and Claire are members of <br />the Council committee reviewing the parking meter study regarding revenues for <br />financing improvements. <br />6. Mayor Stangel read the following statement into the record: <br />"NOTICE OF NON- DISCRIMINATION <br />"THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY HEREBY DECLARES AND PROVIDES NOTICE THAT IT DOES <br />NOT DISCRIMINATE ON THE BASIS OF HANDICAPPED STATUS IN ADMISSION OR <br />ACCESS TO, OR TREATMENT OR EMPLOYMENT IN, ITS PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES. <br />"COMPLIANCE WITH HANDICAPPED NON- DISCRIMINATION REGULATION IS THE <br />RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES, JAMES IRIZARRY, <br />DIRECTOR. <br />"ISSUED JANUARY 16, 1984." Councilwoman Mosher asked that consideration be given to appointing a fulltime <br />director of the Fair Oaks Community Center, stating that she had received many <br />comments about the need for such an employee to be restored to the Center. <br />(memo 1/17/84) <br />8. Councilman Rhodes suggested that with regard to the damage being caused by <br />street trees on Broadway, that they should be removed and replaced with <br />smaller trees.
