M /S: Claire /Rhodes <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9563 CONDEMNING BUILDINGS AT 320 FULLER STREET, 328 -330 FULLER <br />STREET, 334 FULLER STREET, 503 -505 ALLERTON STREET, AND 335 -345 BRADFORD <br />STREET AS PUBLIC NUISANCES AND DIRECTING RECONSTRUCTION OR REMOVAL THEREOF <br />adopted unanimously by roll call vote. <br />(The Council recessed from 9:35 to 9:45 p.m.) <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />4. Senior Citizens Advisory Committee recommendation to <br />waive the residency requirement for appointees to the <br />Senior Affairs Commission (continued from 4/23/84) <br />(302 -05) <br />Report of City Manager and Director of Human Resources 5/4/84 <br />M /S: Chandler /Claire to accept the recommendation of the Senior Citizens <br />Advisory Committee that residency requirements for appointees to the Senior <br />Affairs Commission be waived, but that not more than three of the seven <br />members may be non - residents. <br />Nita Spangler,970 Edgewood Drive, member of the 1983 Charter Review Committee <br />which recommended the residency requirements, said she believes nonresidents <br />should be welcome to particpate in City activities, but that they should not <br />be appointed to make decisions on boards and commissions.. <br />Tom Jordan, 1 Odessa Court, member of the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee, <br />said that nonresidents participate and should be represented, noting that the <br />Charter amendment is sufficiently flexible to allow consideration of <br />applications for qualified persons who will make contributions to the City. <br />The motion carried on the following roll call vote: <br />Ayes: Councilman Chandler, Claire and Stangel <br />Noes: Councilman Rhodes and Mayor Britschgi MINUTE ORDER NO. 84 -77 <br />In response to question, City Attorney Schricker said that no additional <br />advertising of vacancies on the Senior Affairs Commission is necessary as <br />notice is being given. <br />In response to question, City Clerk Hildebrand reported that the deadline for <br />filing applications for appointment to the new commission is May 16, 1984. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />Reg.
