Stangel <br />Budget Study Session <br />M I N U T E S <br />BUDGET STUDY SESSION <br />June 13, 1984 <br />Veterans Memorial Senior Center <br />CALL TO ORDER - 7:30 p.m. Mayor Britschgi presiding <br />ROLL CALL <br />Councilmen present: Bury, Chandler, Claire (arrived 8:00 p.m.), Mosher, Rhodes, <br />Stangel, and Mayor Britschgi. <br />Councilmen absent: None <br />Officials and staff present: Smith, Schricker, Tasseff, Hildebrand, and <br />Department Heads and other department representatives. <br />PROPOSED ANNUAL BUDGET 1984 -85 <br />(Review continued from 6/9/84) <br />Mayor Britschgi reminded Council that approval of the allocation to the Chamber of <br />Commerce had been withheld pending receipt of more detailed information with <br />regard to proposed use of the funds and said that Chamber representatives will <br />present the requested information now. <br />Jack Castle, President, Chamber of Commerce, distributed a breakdown of the <br />expected use of the requested $30,000 and reviewed the items. Mr. Castle and <br />Larry Buckmaster, Executive Director of the Chamber, then showed a new <br />seven - minute audio visual "image piece" on Redwood City prepared for use in <br />promoting the City and encouraging desirable business to move here. <br />M /S: Chandler /Stangel to increase the amount of funds budgeted for the San Mateo <br />County Chamber of Commerce from the $20,000 recommended to $30,000 in the <br />Community Promotion portion of the Community Development Program. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote.
