Item No. 2 (continued) <br />delivery trucks; whether placement of the pumps and store more to the rear of <br />the property might not increase safety because of the increased maneuvering <br />and waiting space available on the site; and whether variance conditions <br />might be acceptable which would require trucks to enter from Willow Street. <br />Mayor Britschgi invited anyone else present who wished to speak to do so. No <br />one wished to speak. <br />M /S: Stangel /Mosher to close the public hearing. <br />Carried unanimously and the public hearing closed at 9:20 p.m. <br />M /S: Claire /Bury to accept the staff recommendation that the request of <br />Robert H. Lee for Conditional Variance to change the driveway width of the <br />Chevron Self -Serve Mini Market, 2215 El Camino Real be denied; to suggest to <br />the applicant that the City Council is willing to consider an application <br />with a redesign of the station layout; and that the following findings are <br />made: <br />1. that the proposal would cause traffic congestion on a main thoroughfare, <br />E1 Camino Real; <br />2. that it would enhance the probability of "rear end" type accidents at the <br />entrance of the site from El Camino Real; and <br />3. that it would create conflicting traffic patterns in entering and exiting <br />the site. <br />The motion carried on the following roll call vote: <br />Ayes: Councilmen Bury, Chandler, Claire, Mosher, and Mayor Britschgi <br />Noes: Councilmen Rhodes, Stangel <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 84 -129 <br />(City Council recessed from 9:35 to 9:37 p.m.) <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />None <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />REPORTS OF CITY MANAGER <br />3.
