Michele Jackson, Executive Director of Shelter Network, thanked Council for <br /> continuing support, particularly, Maple Street, which serves single individuals from <br /> the county as well as Redwood Family House. <br /> <br /> Barbara Liedtke, Housing, thanked Council and stated that the housing crisis has <br /> not gone away. She stated the need to support shared housing and other housing <br /> programs will continue and HIP Housing is thrilled to offer assistance in the <br /> community. <br /> <br /> M/S Ira/Howard to close the public hearing for all items except Canada College. <br /> The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote by those present. <br /> <br /> 8:26 p.m. - Mayor Claire left the dais. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Ira opened the public hearing regarding Canada College. There was no public <br />comment. <br /> <br />M/S Ruskin/Howard to close the public hearing. The motion passed by a unanimous voice <br />vote by those present. <br /> <br />8:27 p.m. - Mayor Claire returned to the dais. <br /> <br />Council Members asked various questions. Council comments toward next year's process <br />included the desire to hear more about actual success stories about empowerment, date <br />about numbers served, and number of people succeeded with a more performance <br />based, scientific, objective criteria measurement applied. <br /> <br /> M/S Ruskin/Ira to adopt a resolution relative to all items with the exception of <br /> Canada College as follows: <br /> RESOLUTION 14440 APPROVING ANNUAL ACTION PLAN OF THE CONSOLIDATED <br /> PLAN (2000-2005) AND APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE (COMMUNITY <br /> DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT AND HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP FUNDS); <br /> CERTIFYING THAT THE CITY HAS FOLLOWED ITS ADOPTED CITIZEN <br /> PARTICIPATION PLAN; AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION AND FILING OF ALL <br /> DOCUMENTS PERTAINING THERETO (FISCAL YEAR 2002-2003); <br /> <br /> The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote by those present. <br /> <br /> M/S Howard/Pieme to adopt a resolution amending Resolution 14440 to include <br /> Canada College as follows: <br /> RESOLUTION 14441 APPROVING ANNUAL ACTION PLAN OF THE CONSOLIDATED <br /> PLAN (2000-2005) AND APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE (COMMUNITY <br /> DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT AND HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP FUNDS); <br /> CERTIFYING THAT THE CITY HAS FOLLOWED ITS ADOPTED CITIZEN <br /> <br />REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING MAY 6, 2002 <br />MINUTES PAGE 8 <br />MINUTES Book No. 59 <br />Page No. 153 <br /> <br /> <br />
