Housing and Human Concerns Committee presentation of <br />report of Midpeninsula Citizens for Fair Housing re <br />housing discrimination (702 -02) <br />Report of City Manager and Planning Director 12/16/83 <br />Planning Director Schroeter replied to questions concerning the basis for <br />selection of blacks rather than hispanics as the subject for a <br />discrimination audit in Redwood City; the use of Community Development <br />Block Grant funds for the study and to carry out recommendations approved <br />by Council; and the manner in which the audit is made. <br />Marcia Fein, Fair Housing Coordinator, Midpeninsula Citizens for Fair <br />Housing (MCFH), reported she had designed and conducted the audit and <br />described it, stating it was her decision to commence Phase I with a <br />black /white audit and that a proposal has been drafted for a hispanic/ <br />white audit as Phase II. <br />Discussion followed and Ms. Fein commented and replied to questions <br />relating to the Committee recommendations; the need for affordable <br />housing; the source of housing vacancies included in the audit; and the <br />proposed use of city attorney services. <br />City Attorney Schricker stated that he would want to have a specific <br />assignment approved by Council before proceeding. <br />M /S: Mosher /Bury to accept the recommendations contained in the report of <br />the Midpeninsula Citizens for Fair Housing Audit transmitted by the <br />Housing and Human Concerns Committee in their report of December 16, <br />1982. <br />Reg.Mtg. <br />1/24/83 <br />Page 5 <br />MINUTE BOOK NO. 44 <br />Page No. 50 <br />
