M I N U T E S CITY COUNCIL Saturday, February 26, 1983 Adjourned Meetinq - Mid Year Budget Study Session The Council of the City of Redwood City met on this date at 9:05 a.m. in the Municipal Service Center, Mayor Stangel presiding. Councilmen present: Biagi, Britschgi, Bury, Claire, Mosher, Rhodes and Mayor Stangel Councilmen absent: None Officials and staff present: City Manager Smith, City Attorney Schricker, Director of Finance Tasseff, City Clerk Hildebrand and Director of Public Works Addiego, Planning Director Schroeter, Parks and Recreation Director Griffiths, City Librarian Vollmayer, Director of General Services Mott, Building Official Malkemus, Police Chief Guardino, Fire Chief O'Brien and other members of staff. GENERAL 1. Mid Year Status Report City Manager Smith presented the 1982 -83 Mid Year Status Report, February 22, 1983, which is divided into four parts: 1. Highlights and exceptions for Fiscal Year 1982 -83 2. Departmental issues 3. Status report on City -wide issues 4. Status of departmental objectives Representatives of City departments reviewed and replied to questions regarding details of the Report in the following order: Building Department City Manager Department Finance Department Fire Department General Services Department City Clerk Department Library (Council recessed from 10:20 to 10:35 a.m.) Bud Dougherty, Business Representative of Local 715 SEIU (Service Employees International Union) spoke, noting the presence in the audience of several employees and stating that employees are anxious to preserve the quality of City services and to negotiate an equitable pay increase.
