M I N U T E S <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />Saturday, February 26, 1983 <br />Adjourned Meetinq - Mid Year Budget Study Session <br />The Council of the City of Redwood City met on this date at 9:05 a.m. in the <br />Municipal Service Center, Mayor Stangel presiding. <br />Councilmen present: Biagi, Britschgi, Bury, Claire, Mosher, Rhodes <br />and Mayor Stangel <br />Councilmen absent: None <br />Officials and staff present: City Manager Smith, City Attorney Schricker, <br />Director of Finance Tasseff, City Clerk Hildebrand and Director of Public Works <br />Addiego, Planning Director Schroeter, Parks and Recreation Director Griffiths, <br />City Librarian Vollmayer, Director of General Services Mott, Building Official <br />Malkemus, Police Chief Guardino, Fire Chief O'Brien and other members of staff. <br />GENERAL <br />1. Mid Year Status Report <br />City Manager Smith presented the 1982 -83 Mid Year Status Report, February 22, <br />1983, which is divided into four parts: <br />1. Highlights and exceptions for Fiscal Year 1982 -83 <br />2. Departmental issues <br />3. Status report on City -wide issues <br />4. Status of departmental objectives <br />Representatives of City departments reviewed and replied to questions regarding <br />details of the Report in the following order: <br />Building Department <br />City Manager Department <br />Finance Department <br />Fire Department <br />General Services Department <br />City Clerk Department <br />Library <br />(Council recessed from 10:20 to 10:35 a.m.) <br />Bud Dougherty, Business Representative of Local 715 SEIU (Service Employees <br />International Union) spoke, noting the presence in the audience of several <br />employees and stating that employees are anxious to preserve the quality of City <br />services and to negotiate an equitable pay increase. <br />Department review continued: <br />Parks and Recreation Department <br />Planning Department <br />Police Department <br />(Council recessed for lunch from 11:55 a.m. to 12:25 p.m.) <br />Budget Study <br />2/26/83 <br />MINUTE BOOK NO. 44 <br />Page No. 60 <br />
