Item No. 5 (continued) Mr. Thompson stated further for the record that the property itself will not cause discontiguous patterns of urban development, being surrounded by the City of Redwood City for the most part, with the balance adjoining the Town of Atherton. Mr. Thompson noted that the history of the subject property is recited in the application which he submitted on behalf of the petitioners for cancellation of Williamson Act land conservation agreements. He added that it is zoned "R -1 -7" (single- family homes - -7,000 sq. ft. and that residential development is expected to take place soon. In response to question, Mr. Thompson said that no agricultural use of the subject property is in effect now. Tony Schiavo, 134 Selby Lane, Atherton, property owner adjacent to the subject property, referred to the Notice he received of the public hearing and inquired about the nature of the Williamson Act and the planned use of the property. It was suggested that Mr. Schiavo confer with Planning Director Schroeter to learn about the considerable study and the Special Area Plan developed for the area within the past two years.
