Item No. 5 (continued) <br />Mr. Thompson stated further for the record that the property itself will <br />not cause discontiguous patterns of urban development, being surrounded by <br />the City of Redwood City for the most part, with the balance adjoining the <br />Town of Atherton. <br />Mr. Thompson noted that the history of the subject property is recited in <br />the application which he submitted on behalf of the petitioners for <br />cancellation of Williamson Act land conservation agreements. He added <br />that it is zoned "R -1 -7" (single- family homes - -7,000 sq. ft. and that <br />residential development is expected to take place soon. In response to <br />question, Mr. Thompson said that no agricultural use of the subject <br />property is in effect now. <br />Tony Schiavo, 134 Selby Lane, Atherton, property owner adjacent to the <br />subject property, referred to the Notice he received of the public hearing <br />and inquired about the nature of the Williamson Act and the planned use of <br />the property. It was suggested that Mr. Schiavo confer with Planning <br />Director Schroeter to learn about the considerable study and the Special <br />Area Plan developed for the area within the past two years. <br />Mayor Stangel invited anyone else present who wished to speak to do so. <br />No one wished to speak. <br />M /S: Biagi /Rhodes to close the public hearing. <br />Carried unanimously and public hearing closed at 9:10 p.m. <br />M /S: Biagi /Rhodes to grant the application for cancellation of Williamson <br />Act land conservation agreements for Horgan Ranch property of Kazuye H. <br />and Tora Mori, James K. and Shirley I. Mori, Minoru Okamora, Maseo and <br />Nobu Okabayashi, and Takeshi Sugimoto. <br />The motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
