GENERAL <br />1. Councilman Britschgi inquired whether the Council can take any action to <br />terminate the showing of "adult" films at the Fox Theatre. <br />City Attorney schricker advised that the showing of such films is pro- <br />tected by the First Amendment, but that it is possible to confine such <br />activities to certain areas of a city through zoning regulations. <br />M /S: Britschg i /Mosher to ask Mayor Stangel to contact Justin Jacobs, Jr., <br />the owner of the Fox Theatre, to ask if he would be willing to change the <br />movie program to films more acceptable for family viewing. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 83 -40 <br />2. Councilman Bury called attention to the hazardous conditions caused by <br />recent storms in part of Chestnut Street along the railroad tracks. <br />City Manager Smith advised that Southern Pacific Company has done some <br />street repair work on the area and said that he will call the present <br />condition to their attention. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION - Labor relations <br />M /S: Biagi/Mosher to adjourn to executive session for the purpose of considering <br />labor relations and to reconvene solely to adjourn. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote and Council adjourned to executive session at <br />11 :55 p.m. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Upon motion duly made seconded and carried, the City Council adjourned at 1 :15 <br />a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 1983 to a Neighborhood meeting at Kennedy School at <br />7:30 p.m., Monday, March 14, 1983. <br />JACQUELINE C.
