Item No. 5 (continued) <br />City Attorney Schricker advised that Council can, without prejudice, direct <br />staff to investigate the feasibility and to prepare a utility user tax <br />ordinance, observing that time limitations and complexities of drafting <br />such an ordinance and necessary time for the utility companies to act might <br />suggest such action would be prudent. <br />M /S: Claire /Biagi that staff work with the utility companies and any other <br />interested parties to develop and report to the City Council as rapidly as <br />possible, delineating the revenues that could be derived from the utility <br />user tax and how that tax could best be implemented. <br />The motion carried by majority voice vote which Mayor Stangel determined to <br />be 5 to 2.
