Item No. 6 (continued) <br />Mayor Stangel stated that Council would make use of their option to conduct <br />an auction on the subject property for which sealed bids were previously <br />offered and opened. <br />In response to questions of City Attorney Schricker, Assistant Finance <br />Director Becker stated that he had advised the bidders on Parcel No. <br />053 - 147 -030 that auction was recommended and they are present. He said <br />with regard to Parcel No. 054 - 030 -010, the highest bidder had been advised <br />that staff was recommending acceptance of his bid, although an auction <br />might be held, and the highest bidder, Bennie Berman, is not present. In <br />further response, Mr. Becker said that bid specifications included the <br />statement that an auction might be conducted, if Council is not satisfied <br />with the bids received. <br />M /S: Biagi/Mosher to postpone consideration of bids on Parcel No. <br />054 - 030 -010; that an auction of the parcel be conducted on March 21, 1983; <br />and that both bidders be notified of the auction date. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 83 -36 <br />Consideration of auction with regard to sale of Parcel 053 - 147 -030 <br />City Manager Smith reported that two bids have been received for Parcel No. <br />053 - 147 -030: Charles Hockaday $4,200; and Lawrence Chubick $4,050 <br />(appraised value $4,500), both of whom wish to participate in the auction <br />along with Frank Guida, 2040 Roosevelt Avenue. <br />Mr. Schricker noted the encumbrance on the property of a storm drain <br />easement and Planning Director Schroeter described zoning ordinance <br />requirements.
