6. Approval of specifications, call for bids - Tree Trimmer <br />Truck <br />Report of City Manager and Director of General Services 4/11/83 <br />In response to question, City Manager Smith reported that the cost of the <br />required OSHA inspection of the present equipment is $10,000 and that <br />bringing the old equipment up to OSHA standards would have to be added to <br />that amount. <br />Director of Parks and Recreation Griffiths described the detailed, <br />expensive OSHA required inspection for a vehicle which must go within 10 <br />ft. of high energy wires, tests involving voltages to insure safety for <br />those using the vehicle. Mr. Griffiths said that the tests are required <br />every three years for trucks stored outside and every five years for those <br />inside. <br />Title read.
