Vice Mayor Pierce—stated that on March 11, the City was visited by Sister City <br /> representatives from Zhuhai, China. On behalf of the delegation, she presented <br /> to Mayor Ira the Govemment gift from Zhuhai, a paperweight with the Year of the <br /> Rooster stamp. A visit and tour of the Historic Courthouse Museum and Sequoia <br /> High School occurred. A discussion of the Intemational Baccalaureate program <br /> and the idea of a cultural exchange with students and teachers was a topic of <br /> interest during the tour. Vice Mayor Pierce also announced that on Tuesday, <br /> March 22 at 5:00 p.m. at Kennedy Middle School, former Secretary of State Dr. <br /> George Schultz will be assisting in inducting Dr. Kiron Skinner to the 2005 <br /> Kennedy Hall of Fame. If interested in attending, the suggested donation is <br /> $25.00 with funds going toward the Kennedy °Fitness for Life" program <br /> 10. Ms. Tiernan was the first female business license collector <br /> for the City and held that position for 16 years upon retirement. . <br /> Vice Mayor Pierce requested adjoumment in memory of Fred Peterson who died on <br /> March 5, 2005 at the age of 83. He was a resident of Redwood City for 80 years, <br /> graduating from Sequoia High School in 1939, served in the Marines during 1NWI1, <br /> and retired as foreman after 35 years with the Redwood City water department. <br /> Mayor Ira requested adjoumment in memory of Genie Fon who died unexpectedly on <br /> March 11, 2005 at the age of 62. She joined the Police Department in 1979 as a <br /> Police Clerk, served as Secretary to the Police Chief since 1987 and for the past 11 <br /> years, Secretary to Police Chief Bolanos. <br /> The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Patricia S.
