ff has completed the design for the lighted crosswalk warning signals at Bay <br />Road/Tenth Avenue and Florence Street/Seventeenth Avenue, and the project is now <br />ready for construction. The two crosswalk warning systems will be constructed under <br />one project to minimize construction costs. A portion of the system at Bay Road/Tenth <br />Avenue will be constructed on the County's right-of-way. The City has already entered <br />into an agreement (approved and authorized by City Council on April 22, 2002) with the <br />County of San Mateo allowing the City to construct a portion of the improvements within <br />the County's right-of-way. <br /> <br />The Engineer's Estimate for this combined project is $90,000. <br /> <br />On Wednesday, May 29, 2002, Eight (8) bids were received. Richard A. Heaps - Sacramento, CA $97,222.00 <br /> I Average I <br /> <br />The average bid of $86,550.00 was 4% below the Engineer's Estimate of $90,000.
