The concession stand will be used for Little <br />League games, PTA functions, and other community activities. <br />The Engineer's/Design Architect's Estimate for this combined project is $525,000. <br />Three (3) bids were received at the bid opening on Wednesday, May 15, 2002. The <br />results are summarized below: <br /> <br /> No. Bidder Bid Amount <br /> 1.. KCK Builders- San Rafael, CA $628,000 <br /> 2. John Plan Construction, Inc. $668,900 <br /> 3. A.J. Vasconi General Engineering - Concord, CA $674,500 <br /> <br />Due to the site conditions and constraints specified in the Contract Documents to minimize <br />the construction impact to other park users, the average bid of $657,133 was 20% above the <br />Engineer's/Design Architect's Estimate of $525,000 for the cost of construction. After careful <br />evaluation of all bids, the bid of $628,000 is higher than expected, and it is considered a <br />reasonable and responsive bid. <br />A complete copy of the Contract Documents is available for review in the office of the City <br />Engineer, and a copy of the Agreement is available for review in the City Clerk's Office. <br />Alternative <br />Do not award the Contract for $628,000, and direct staff to redesign and rabid the project. <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />Funds in the amount of $680,000 for the Restroom Replacement Program and Skate Park <br />Project are available in the FY 2000-2001 and FY 2001-2002 Capital Improvement Program <br />budgets. <br />Senior Civil Engine ineering & Construction City Manager <br />JP/CHU;$s <br />S/LIBRARY/REPORTS/Chu/award_Red Motion Park Skate~ Concession <br /> <br /> <br />
