Box 478 <br /> Redwood City, CA 94063 <br /> <br /> Dear Honorable Council Members, <br /> <br /> The Peninsula Celebration Association wishes to make a formal request to conduct our Annual <br /> Independence Day activities in Downtown Redwood City on Thursday July 4, 2002. The following is <br /> a summaD' of the planned events: <br /> <br /> 1. The Parks & Recreation Department will hold their annual 'Fun Run' footrace along the parade <br /> route. Registration will be from 7:30am to 8:45am The race will begin at 9:15 am. <br /> <br /> 2. The Annual Independence Day Parade will start at 10:30 AM at Brewster and Arguello. <br /> <br /> 3. The Arts & Crafts Fair and Festival hours of operation will be 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Thursday <br /> July 4. <br /> <br /> 4. Fireworks display (launched from a barge) starting at approximately 9:30 PM at the Port of <br /> Redwood City. <br /> <br /> Detailed maps that indicate areas to be used in downtown and a fireworks site map are attached. <br /> <br /> The following support services are requested: <br /> <br /> Parks and Recreation: <br /> <br /> Deliver available bleachers to Marshall Street between Hamilton and Winslow streets prior to <br /> and pick up after the Parade. (Place on sidewalk in front of Law Library) <br /> <br /> Open the gates at the Marshall Street parking structure and leave open after 6pm on July 3rd <br /> and restore to normal on July 5th. <br /> <br /> MEMBER: PARADE SPONSORS' ASSOCIATION OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA INC. <br /> lan organization formed for the purpose of presenting better parades) <br /> <br /> <br />
