GENERAL <br />1. Councilman Rhodes reported that he had attended the League of California <br />Cities Legislative Conference in Sacramento, May 23 -25, 1983 and learned <br />that the Governor is appointing a task force to make recommendations to <br />place cities on a financially stable basis and is attempting to have a <br />sales tax increase adopted which will also benefit cities. <br />2. Councilman Mosher announced that a City Council vs. Park and Recreation <br />Commission benefit softball game will be played at Hawes Park at <br />7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 23 with receipts going to the Child Care Program <br />at the Peninsula Youth Center and the Recreation Department's summer youth <br />program. Tickets are $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children. <br />3. Mayor Stangel announced that the next Council of Mayors meeting will be in <br />Redwood City at the Floodlite Restaurant on Friday, June 24. All Council <br />members indicated they plan to attend. Robinson, Jr. be reappointed to the full <br />three -year term and that Sibyl Schutz be appointed to the unexpired term, <br />expiring 6/30/85.
