APPOINTMENTS (continued) <br />Port Commission <br />In response to question, City Clerk Hildebrand described the newspaper <br />advertising and posting of notices used to invite applications for <br />appointments to current vacancies on City boards and commission. <br />M /S: Britschgi /Claire that more advertising be done for applicants for <br />appointment to the Port Commission and that the filing period be extended <br />to July 1, 1983 so that additional candidates may file. <br />The motion failed on the following roll call vote: <br />Ayes: Councilmen Claire, Mosher and Vice Mayor Britschgi <br />Noes: Councilman Biagi, Bury, Rhodes and Mayor Stangel <br />In response to question, City Attorney Schricker described the legal <br />grounds on which a council member might disqualify himself from voting. <br />Voting then took place as follows: <br />Paul Freeman 2 <br />Marguerite Leipzig 5 <br />Mayor Stangel declared Marguerite Leipzig appointed to a full five -year <br />term on the Port Commission commencing August 1, 1983. <br />MINUTE ORDER 83 -90 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION - <br />Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, Council adjourned to executive <br />session for the purpose of considering litigation at 11:58 p.m. and will reconvene <br />solely to adjourn. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, Council adjourned at 12:30 a.m., <br />Tuesday, June 7, 1983 to 9:00 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 1983 in the Municipal <br />Service Center for Budget Study Session and to 7:30 p.m., Monday, June 13, 1983 to <br />a Neighborhood Meeting at Roy Cloud School. <br />JACQUELINE C.
