Councilman Biagi noted that a number of young people were in the audience, <br />and upon invitation by Mayor Stangel, were introduced by their spokesman <br />as students from Woodside High School. Councilman Biagi recalled that the <br />City had conducted a Government Affairs Program for a number of years, and <br />offered encouragement for continued interest in government by the <br />students. <br />2. Mayor Stangel called attention to the City Manager's Report of October 19 <br />regarding a workshop to be held on Friday afternoon, October 28, 1983 to <br />be hosted by the City and Public Technology, Inc., at the Veterans <br />Memorial Building on the subject of Strategic Planning. City Manager <br />Smith stated that participants from about twenty neighboring cities were <br />expected to participate and that he believed it would be very worthwhile <br />for the Council to attend. <br />3. Councilman Britschgi referred to the letter from Planning Director <br />Schroeter to property owners on Hoover Street concerning various <br />violations against City Codes and commended him for those efforts toward <br />compliance. Mayor Stangel reported that he had spoken with neighbors in <br />the area who are pleased that the problems are being corrected. <br />4. Mayor Stangel recognized Mrs. Nita Spangler, present in the audience, and <br />commended her and the other members of the Archives Committee of the <br />Redwood City Library for their efforts in having the Union Cemetery <br />property, 316 Woodside Road, placed on the National Register as a State <br />historic site as of August 25, 1983. <br />5.
