Carried unanimously and public hearing closed at 8:20 p.m. MIS: ChandlerlBritschgi to uphold the decision of the Zoning Administrator and deny the appeal for Architectural Permit for a modified freestanding sign, adding a computerized message board at Pasquinelli's Farm House, 386 Convention Way, and that the action of the Zoning Administrator be affirmed on the grounds that: 1. The sign is not in proportion to the building site and existing improvements on the premises, being oversize in size and appearance. 2. The sign does not conform to the character of other structures on the premises in that the existing structures are somewhat rustic and the framed sign includes electronic devices. 3. The sign would have excessive ornamentation in that it includes flashing changing messages. 4. The sign would exceed the maximum size permitted by the sign ordinance provisions of the Redwood City Code. 5. The sign would be of an animated character which is contrary to the provisions of Section 3.124 of the Redwood City Code, being proposed to have its messages changed every five seconds. In response to question, City Attorney Schricker advised that the appellant is entitled to return immediately with a new application for a sign for the same location, there being no restriction with regard to any waiting period. The motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
