Public Hearing - Resolution of Intention of <br />Planning Commission to rezone Edison School <br />property located at 191 G Street from R-1 <br />(Residential--Single Family) District to IP <br />(Industrial Park) District <br /> <br />Planning Commission record transmitted <br />2/5/82 <br /> <br />Mayor Biagi declared open 7:42 p.m. <br /> <br />Affidavits of Publication of Notice of <br />Hearing and of Mailing reported on file. <br /> <br />In response to request to do so, Planning Director Schroeter stated for <br />the record that the proposed IP (Industrial Park) District is intended for <br />offices, research and development and similar light uses, with 25' <br />setbacks, height limitations, considerable landscaping and space between <br />buildings all required and noise, odors, dust, smoke, vibrations, and <br />outside storage not allowed. <br /> <br />Gary Gilmore, Public Property Advisors, 1201 Franklin Mall, Santa Clara, <br />spoke on behalf of the School District Board in support of the Planning <br />Commission and staff recommendations. <br /> <br />Discussion followed and Mr. Schroeter, City Manager Smith and City <br />Attorney Schricker and Mr. Gilmore commented and replied to questions <br />concerning access to the property on G Street and the possibility of <br />requiring a non-access strip on G Street to avoid traffic problems which <br />might occur there. <br /> <br />Mr. Gilmore offered to cooperate in working out an arrangement acceptable <br />to the City to prohibit access to the'property from G Street. <br /> <br />City Attorney Schricker advised that Council may complete the public <br />hearing and approve the proposed ordinance for first reading, then delay <br />final adoption until documents can be prepared for Council review on <br />restrictions related to access. <br /> <br />Reg.Mtg. <br />3/8/82 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />ñ\ <br />}j, <br />
