Statement of intent to transfer property to <br />Redevelopment Agency <br /> <br />REPORTS OF CITY r1ANAGER <br /> <br />Report of City Manager 5/20/82 <br /> <br />City Manager Smith noted that the Council <br />will be adjourning later this evening to a <br />meeting of the Redevelopment Agency and <br />taking action with regard to the subject <br />item. He recommended that the Council <br />take action at this time to transfer the <br />surplus treatment plant property on Maple <br />Street to the Redevelopment Agency. It was <br />indicated that formal documents will be pre- <br />pared for consideration by Council when legal <br />descriptions are available to the City <br />Attorney. <br /> <br />M/S: RhodeslBury to state the intent of <br />Council to transfer the surplus treatment <br />plant to the Redwood City Redevelopment <br />Agency. <br /> <br />City t1anager Smith advi sed in response to <br />question that the Zimmerman model airplane <br />field is included in this property, but that <br />the roads are dedicated rights of way. <br /> <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 82-78 <br /> <br />SPECIAL PRESENTATION <br /> <br />------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />Mayor Stangel advised that in the interest of time and as a courtesy to the <br />speakers, at his invitation a presentation by representatives of the Peninsula <br />Celebration Association will be made at this time. <br /> <br />Vincent Rios, 625 Larch, South San Francisco, stated that they are present <br />to request that the City approve a formal resolution of adoption of the <br />A Company, First Battalion, 5th Marines, and support the invitation to that <br />Unit and an accompanying band to participate in the Redwood City 4th of July <br />Parade weekend activities. <br /> <br />Paul Corey, 1177 Nimitz Lane, Foster City, distributed copies to Council of <br />his memorandum dated August 28, 1981 to the City Manager of San Mateo relating <br />to their Vietnam Veterans' Days Celebration, and described his role in organ- <br />izing that celebration. He asked that Council endorse the invitation for the <br />unit to participate in the parade. <br /> <br />Mr. Rios reported the enthusiastic support from the veterans and service <br />groups in Redwood City in this endeavor and for the Memorial Day services <br />on May 31.
