<br />ARTICLE 19 <br /> <br />GI GENERAL INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT <br /> <br />SECTION 19.1 Purpose. To provide a district exclusively for sound <br />industrial development wherein manufacturing and other industries can locate <br />and operate away from the restricting influences on non-industrial uses <br />while maintaining an environment free from offensive or objectionable noise~ <br />dust, odor, and other nuisances. <br /> <br />SECTION 19.2 Permitted Uses. <br />permitted in the GI District: <br /> <br />The following structures and uses are <br /> <br />( a) <br /> <br />Manufacturing, processing, fabricating and assembly operations not <br />otherwise listed as conditional uses in this article. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Wholesale business, storage, and warehousing. <br /> <br />( c) <br /> <br />Research, film experimental or testing laboratories. <br /> <br />( d) <br /> <br />offices. <br /> <br />Administrative <br /> <br />( e) <br /> <br />Railroad yards, freight stations and trucking and motor terminals. <br /> <br />(f) <br /> <br />Public utility buildings, sub-stations and service yards. <br /> <br />(g) <br /> <br />Automobile, truck, trailer, boat and heavy equipment repair and <br />service establishments. <br /> <br />(h) <br /> <br />Brick and pottery factories, stone and monument works. <br /> <br />(i) <br /> <br />Parking lots and garages. <br /> <br />SECTION 19.3 Accessory Uses. The following structures and uses are <br />permitted in the GI District when accessory to a use permitted under Sections <br />19 .2 and 19.4: <br /> <br />( a) <br /> <br />Accessory uses and structures customarily appurtenant to a permitted <br />use. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Sales incidental to an industrial use without any exterior advertising <br />or display. <br /> <br />( c) <br /> <br />Employees restaurants and cafeterias not open to the general public. <br /> <br />SECTION 19.4 Conditional U~s. The following structures and uses are <br />permitted in the GI District subject to first obtaining a use permit therefor: <br /> <br />( a) <br /> <br />Automobile and metal appliance manufacturing and assembly plants~ <br />structural steel fabricating shops and machine shops, forges and <br />foundries. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Automobile wrecking yards, sal~üge and war surplus yards. <br /> <br />46 <br />
