Prepared by: Mark Thomas & Co. Inc. Dated: 2/5/99 SCOPE OF SERVICES FOR ROUTE lOl/RALSTON-MARINE PARKWAY INTERCHANGE PROJECT General Conditions and Requirements. This project will be subject to the following general conditions and requirements: 0 Consultant will carry out the instructions as received from the City Project Manager, and will cooperate with Caltrans and any others working on the project. CJ In those instances where Consultant believes a better design or solution to the problem is possible, we will promptly notify the City Project Manager of these concerns, together with the reasons therefore. CJ The data and plans will be reviewed by the City and Ca1trans staff for conformity with applicable Design Standards, the approved Project Report, and the approved Environmental Document. The responsibility for accuracy and completeness of such items remains solely that of the consultant. CJ The plans, designs, estimates, calculations, reports, and other documents furnished under this scope of services will be of a quality acceptable to the City and Caltrans. The criteria for acceptance will be a product of neat appearance, well-organized, technically and grammatically correct, and checked with the preparer and checker identified. The minimum standard of appearance, organization and contents of the drawings shall be that of similar types produced by Caltrans. 0 The page identifying preparers of engineering reports, the title sheet for specifications, and each sheet of plans, shall bear the professional seal, certificate number, registration classification, expiration date of the certificate, and signature of the professional engineer(s) responsible for their preparation. CJ Consultant will establish direct contact with governmental, regulatory, resource agencies, and others for the purpose of obtaining information, expertise, and assistance in developing baseline data and resource inventories. We will maintain a record of all such contacts, and shall transmit copies of those records to the City and State on a regular basis. Formal submittal to regulatory agencies shall only be made after approval of submittal by City staff. DETAILED SCOPE OF SERVICES Task 1 - Kick-Off Meeting Task Description. Consultant will meet with the City and Caltrans staff to review the project scope of work, schedule, design standards, PSR/PR, environmental document, and PS&E requirements for the project. This meeting will also address project coordination and responsibilities and define key project issues and goals.
