¿f¿ -#-

. City Council - Consent Calendar
~ Building Permit and Inspection

COMMISSION QUESTIONS
Commissioner Radcliffe asked at one point would the units be going up for sale.

Ms. Ekas said that the process must be completed first.

Commissioner Cronin asked for an explanation of the terminology of "air space".

Ms. Ekas said the tenants would own right up to the paint, and the shared walls.

Commissioner Piulle asked if the common open space would be fenced in.

Ms. Ekas said no, this space would be tucked-in like a side yard. She said it was
not the applicant's intention to make this a neighborhood park.

OPEN PUBLIC HEARING
Ms. Helen Greave, residing adjacent to the subject property, asked if there will be
garages or just parking spaces in front of the units.

Ms. Ekas, said nothing is changing in the conversion. She said parking will
remain the same.

Ms. Greave asked about the demolition process, and the length of time it would
take.

Ms. Ekas said demolition can happen very quickly.

Ms. Greave expressed her concern regarding the "open space" and its
availability to just anyone to use it.

Ms. Ekas said the intention is that it will only be used by the residents of the
development. The intention of not fencing it, is because it is really attractive and
will have a nice solar access. She said if maintenance of the area becomes a
problem, the Homeowners Association could decide to put a fence in, with City
review of the fencing materials.

MIS: (Seybert/Cronin) to close the Public Hearing.
Motion Passed

DISCUSSION
Commissioner Claire asked what the rationale of the Planning Commission was
for eliminating the 9th Unit, and wondered if a variance could have been retained.
