Community involvement and <br />incorporation into the General Plan should occur. <br />Lynn Trullio supported Council Member Foust's comments and stated that one <br />approach might be to bring the broad themes that have been developed to the <br />public and then have some specific alternative approaches to those themes. She <br />offered conversation with the restoration project folks for ideas if so desired. <br />Nita Spangler supported the references to the Ahwanee and Pasadena <br />principles. She encouraged open space, the historic aspects and obtaining the <br />history of the city. <br />Mayor Ira suggested two or three members of Council and the Planning <br />Commission meet with staff to work through the comments and themes, bring <br />back a vision then decide how to go back out to the community. The following <br />members will meet with staff: Council Members Foust, Howard, Vice Mayor <br />Pierce; and Planning Commissioners Cronin, Paulson and Seybert. <br />I. Resolution of Intention to direct the Planning Commission to undertake a <br />comprehensive review of the General Plan and provide the City Council with <br />recommended amendments. <br />Recommendation: <br />WS Bain /Pierce to approve the following Resolution of Intention: <br />RESOLUTION 14635 OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY TO DIRECT THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO UNDERTAKE A <br />COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY STRATEGIC <br />GENERAL PLAN AND TO PROVIDE THE CITY COUNCIL WITH <br />RECOMMENDED AMENDMENTS TO THE STRATEGIC GENERAL PLAN (301) <br />The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote. <br />7. Legislation (information only) - This sub - section involves possible discussion of <br />City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California <br />Cities Priority Focus Bulletin No. 12 -2005.
