METHOD OF DISBURSEMENT AND RECAPTURE OF FUNDS <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />METHOD OF DISBURSEMENT <br /> <br />When the tenant has determined their choice of a fixed or actual expense, and a <br />comparable replacement unit has been located, the Housing & Redevelopment <br />Director, or his designee, will calculate the total cost of the relocation. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />ACCESS TO FUNDS <br /> <br />A request will be made to the' Finance Department to set up a purchase <br />order in the amount of total relocation costs for the building address being <br />abated, and will advance funds from the City's unbudgeted reserve account. <br /> <br />Agency shall, upon determination of relocation costs, establish a subescrow <br />account and make available from the City's unbudgeted reserve account, an <br />amount sufficient to carry out the relocation plan for each code enforcement <br />abatement. Moving expense and relocation assistance payments shall be <br />made to each eligible household based on calculations in Part Vll, <br />Defmitions - Fixed Moving Expense Payment and Relocation Assistance. <br />Payments Calculation. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />MOVING EXPENSE PAYMENT <br /> <br />The moving expense payment (fixed) will be immediately paid to the <br />displaced tenant household to facilitate moving. For actual moving expenses, <br />and subject to City approval, the payment will be made directly to the <br />moving company after the move and upon receipt of documented evidence <br />that such a move has occurred. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />REPLACEMENT HOUSING ASSISTANCE PAYMENT <br /> <br />The payment for first and last month's rent, or security deposit, will <br />generally be made directly to the new landlord at the replacement housing <br />unit. <br /> <br />Relocation Assistance Payments of less than $5,250, excluding moving <br />expenses, may be made in lump sum directly to the displaced household. <br /> <br />13 <br />
