AGREEMENT <br /> <br /> THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this day <br /> of ~~ , 1989, by and between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a <br /> municipal corporation of the State of California, hereinafter <br /> referred to as "City" and the SOUTH COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION AUTHORITy~publi <br /> entity created for fire protection purposes by a Joint Exercise of <br /> Powers Agreement between the City of San Carlos and the Belmont Fire <br /> Protection District, by and through the Commission of South County <br /> Fire Protection Authority, hereinafter referred to as "Authority"; <br /> <br /> WI TNES SETH: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City desires to provide fire <br />protection services to that portion of the City, generally known as <br />Redwood Shores, that lies within the area bounded by Belmont Slough <br />on the north, San Francisco Bay on the east, Steinberger Slough on <br />the south, and the Bayshore Freeway on the west, hereinafter called <br />the "Service Area"; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the distance to the Service Area from existing <br />Redwood City fire stations requires that arrangements be made with <br />South County Fire Protection Authority to provide response to life <br />and property threatening calls; and <br /> <br /> 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
