D. Capital Improvement Program FY 2005 -2006 First Study Session <br />Chu Chang, Manager, Engineering and Construction. introduced the topic <br />explaining that the presentation would consist of the following points: <br />• City Council Priority /Direction <br />• Funding Sources <br />• Programs /Projects <br />• Evolution <br />• Questions /Answers <br />Associate Engineer Paul Willis gave the presentation pertaining to the Redwood <br />Shores Lagoon Management Program and Associate Civil Engineer Grace Le <br />presented the Sanitary Sewer Capital Improvement Program. <br />Recommendation: <br />Council asked questions and provided direction to staff regarding the FY 2005- <br />2006 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Expenditures and Priorities. The final <br />CIP will be presented for acceptance during the budget review in June. <br />9. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />A. Legislation (information only) - This sub - section involves possible discussion of <br />City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California <br />Cities Priority Focus Bulletin No. 14 -2005 and No. 15 -2005. Council may direct <br />staff to act on positions taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities <br />Priority Focus available in City Clerk's Department). <br />C. Council Member Foust — announced and thanked the Police Department for the <br />service directory that is available in English and Spanish on the website or by <br />calling 780 -7100. The directory assists in traffic related questions, <br />neighborhoods, community policing and neighborhood association meetings. <br />D. Vice Mayor Pierce — announced that the next Redwood City Yellow Ribbon <br />Committee meeting is scheduled for April 27, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. in conference <br />room 20 at the Veterans Memorial Center. <br />E. Mayor Ira — stated that beginning on May 2, the Marshall Street parking facility <br />will be undergoing modifications that will require the entrance to be closed for the <br />next eight weeks thereafter, until June 27.
