<br />'74000 - qt{~ C 2 (q <br /> <br />ORIG INAI. <br /> <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AND REDWOOD CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />( Redwood City Healthy Start Network) <br />,~ <br />This AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 'I day of (J~ 1999, by and <br />between the COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, a political subdivision ofth State of California, <br />("County"); the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a municipal corporation of the State of California, <br />("City"); REDWOOD CITY SCHOOL ("District"); all of which entities are referred to <br />collectively as the "Parties". <br /> <br />WITNESSRTH: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable that the Parties enter into an agreement to establish <br />the Redwood City Healthy Start Network to provide coordination and administrative support to <br />interagency school based family resource centers at Taft, Fair Oaks and Hoover Schools, which <br />provide human services, health services, educational support and community development <br />activities to a community of2000 residents. <br />NOW THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION OF THE MUTUAL COVENANTS AND <br />CONDITIONS CONTAINED HEREIN, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. PURPOSE <br />The Parties are entering into this Agreement for the sole purpose of providing assistance to and <br />allowing the establishment of the Redwood City Healthy Start Network. The Redwood City <br />Healthy Start Network exists for five major purposes; <br />A. To increase the academic achievement and access to educational opportunities for the <br />families. <br />To contribute to an improved sense of well-being and to develop skills to assist <br />neighborhood families and their children cope with life stressors. <br />To improve the physical health of the communities served. <br />To secure the participation of members ofthe community in the implementation of <br />neighborhood improvement efforts. <br />To improve neighborhood safety. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />C. <br />D. <br /> <br />E. <br /> <br />2. TRRM <br />This agreement shall be binding on the Parties upon execution of this Agreement by all Parties. <br />This agreement shall be effective July 1, 1998 and shall continue in effect though June 30, 1999. <br /> <br />3. TERMINATION <br />Any party may withdraw from this Agreement by giving the other Parties sixty (60) days written <br />notice.
