<br />r <br />,8M <br /> <br />AUTOMATIC AID FOR FIRE RESPONSES <br /> <br />This Agreement is entered into this 25th day of <br />by and between the parties signing below: <br /> <br />January <br /> <br />,1999 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the parties wish to establish an automatic aid system <br />throughout the County of San Mateo for Fire Department responses which <br />will send the closest fire units to incidents even though they might cross <br />. jurisdictional boundaries; and .' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there currently exists an automatic aid agreement and <br />deployment plan for paramedic responses in the County and the parties <br />wish to utilize that deployment agreement as the basis for this Agreement; <br />and . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an automatic aid agreement is in the best interests of the <br />citizens of the parties; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED as follows: <br /> <br />1. Automatic Aid. Each of the signatory parties to this Agreement <br />shall provide automatic aid to each other for Fire Department incidents that <br />are dispatched by the San Mateo County Communications division. "Fire <br />Department incidents" include but shall not be lìmited to fires, hazardous <br />waste calls, and service requests but shall expressly exclude medical calls. <br /> <br />Automatic aid shall be provided in accordance with the <br />deployment plan known as the "Deployment Plan for San Mateo County as <br />adopted by the Fire Chiefs Association of San Mat-eo County", set forth as <br />Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference and as said <br />deployment plan may hereafter be amended. <br /> <br />- <br />2. Insurance and Liabilitv. No debt, liability, or obligation of one <br />party shall be the debt, obligation, or liability of another party. Each party <br />shall provide, in its discretion, insurance for its personnel and entity. Each <br />party shall be responsible for its own acts and/ or omissions. <br /> <br />3. Equipment and Resources. The equipment designated in the <br />adopted San Mateo County Resource Deployment Plan, Fire Net Operations <br />Manual, or other document adopted by the San Mateo County Fire Chiefs <br />Association shall be the equipment and resources that a party shall provide <br />to an automatic aid response.
