a RIG I N A L DES:dft ~/14/93 (004/35) /19/93R 7/19/93 RES 0 L UTI 0 N N O. 12016 ---------- -- RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO DISESTABLISH DOWNTOWN BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA NO.2 AND SETTING PUBLIC HEARING ON THE QUESTION OF DISESTABLISHMENT WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 2036, adopted March 25, 1991, this Council established Downtown Business Improvement Area No. 2, including benefit zones therein (the "Area") , in accordance with the Parking and Business Improvement Area Law of 1989 (Sts. & Hwy. Code §36500 et seq.; the "BIA Law"); and WHEREAS, pursuant to said Ordinance No. 2036 and the BIA Law, assessments were levied and collected within the Area for the fiscal year July 1, 1991 - June 30, 1992; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 11783, adopted July 6, 1992, this Council found and declared that a written majority protest had been made against the levy of assessments for the Area for the fiscal year July 1, 1992 - June 30, 1993 and ordered termination of proceedings for the levy of such assessments for said fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the Advisory Board heretofore appointed for the Area has submitted no annual report for the fiscal year July 1, 1993 - June 30, 1994, as required by the BIA Law and there appears to this Council to be insufficient interest in carrying out activities or constructing improvements within the Area through the levy of such assessments to justify continuance of the Area; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS:
