<br />4-6.4 Water Conserving Fixtures furnished by Contractor shall be selected from the list <br />shown on Exhibit B. No offers for substitution will be acknowledged or <br />considered from the Contractor, distributors, manufacturers or subcontractors. <br /> <br />4-6.5 All internal parts of toilets supplied (or fully compatible alternative parts) shall be <br />available for purchase at local area retail, plumbing supply, or wholesale outlets if <br />after-market replacement parts should be required. <br /> <br />4-6.6 Trapway surfaces shall be free from porcelain nodules that may cause waste to <br />"hang up" when exiting the fixture. <br /> <br />4-7 <br /> <br />Normal Replacements <br /> <br />4-7.1 In the case of an existing gravity-fed toilet using 3.5 gallons per flush (gpf) or <br />more, normal replacement shall be a gravity or pressure-assist fixture using 1.6 <br />gallon per flush or less with toilet seat, and including a wax ring, new water <br />supply line and waste flange bolts together with fiber or plastic washer, nuts and <br />caps. NOTE: Existing 1.6 gallons per flush toilets installed in a customer's site <br />shall not be eligible for replacement. <br /> <br />4-7.2 In the case of showerheads using more than 2.5 gallons per minute (gpm), <br />normal replacement will be installation of 2.0 gallons per minute showerhead <br />supplied by the City together with an adapter if necessary. <br /> <br />4-7.3 In the case of existing kitchen faucets, normal replacement will be installation of <br />1.5 gallons per minute aerators supplied by the City provided the existing <br />faucet(s) have internal or external threads. <br /> <br />4-7.3 In the case of existing lavatory faucets, normal replacement will be installation of <br />1.5 gallons per minute aerators supplied by the City provided the existing faucets <br />have internal or external threads. <br /> <br />4- 7.4 In the case of replacement CII toilets of all types, normal replacement shall <br />include installation of a pressure assist elongated bowl equipped with open-front <br />seat. <br /> <br />4- 7.5 In the case of all sites, a round front bowl may be installed if the existing <br />bathroom is too small for an elongated bowl, or the bathroom is used primarily for <br />small children (e.g., a pre-school), or a residential customer insists upon a round- <br />front bowl. <br /> <br />4-8 <br /> <br />Toilet Upgrades for Sites with Existing Gravity-Fed Toilets <br /> <br />4-8.1 To assure satisfactory fixture performance and customer satisfaction, sites with <br />existing gravity-fed toilets using 3.5 gallons per flush or more shall be upgraded <br />to pressure-assist toilets, or a gravity type if the customer prefers. <br /> <br />Agreement over $10K <br />City Attorney Approved Version 111803 <br /> <br />13 <br />
