FXS:dft b/09/93 (010/33) 14/93R 8/30/93 0 RIG I N A L RES 0 L UTI 0 N N O. 12068 ---------- -- RESOLUTION FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT, BECAUSE OF LOCAL CONDITIONS, THE PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, WELFARE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE CHANGES OR MODIFICATIONS TO CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1991 EDITION, ADOPTED BY REFERENCE, AS AMENDED, PURSUANT TO ARTICLE IV OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO ROOFING STANDARDS AND CONSTRUCTION WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 50022.1, et seq., of the Government Code, and Section 15 of the Charter of the City of Redwood City, this Council has previously adopted by reference the Uniform Building Code, 1991 Edition, and the Uniform Building Code Standards, 1991 Edition (Ordinance No. 2054), hereinafter referred to as the "Code"; and WHEREAS, certain changes or modifications are proposed to be made to the substantive provisions of the Code, which changes or modifications are reasonably necessary due to local conditions; and WHEREAS, said changes and additions clarify the Code and in certain instances impose more stringent protection requirements than are required by the Code; and WHEREAS, Section 17958.7 of the California Health and Safety Code requires, insofar as such changes and additions relate to apartment houses, hotels, motels and dwellings, and buildings and structures accessory thereto, that the governing body of a city, before making any changes and additions, shall make an express finding that such changes and additions are reasonably necessary; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: """""".- -....."'"---,,-."-..""
