<br />DES:djk OJ3/24/93 <br /> <br />(114/34) <br /> <br />0 RIG I N A L <br /> <br />8/30/93 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />12066 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING EMPLOYMENT RELOCATION EXPENSE <br />REIMBURSEMENT PLAN AND AUTHORI ZING IMPLEMENTATION <br />THEREOF <br /> <br />WHEREAS, high costs of relocating to, and obtaining housing <br /> <br />within, the Redwood City employment area serve as a deterrent to <br /> <br />attracting <br /> <br />level <br /> <br />personnel <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />highly <br /> <br />qualified <br /> <br />executive <br /> <br />employment with the City of Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />establish <br /> <br />employment <br /> <br />this <br /> <br />Council <br /> <br />desires <br /> <br />an <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />Relocation Expense Reimbursement Plan to alleviate, in part, such <br /> <br />deterrent effect; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />An Employment Relocation Expense Reimbursement Plan is <br /> <br />hereby established as follows: <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />At the discretion of the City Manager, in conjunction <br />wi th offering employment to a position listed in the <br />Executive Service Compensation Plan approved and <br />adopted by Resolution No. 11855, as said Plan may from <br />time to time be amended, revised or superseded <br />(excluding, however, Council-appointed officers therein <br />listed), the City Manager is hereby authorized to offer <br />payment by the City, as reimbursement for Relocation <br />Expenses (hereinafter defined) an amount not to exceed <br />Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00) per prospective <br />appointee. <br /> <br />b. <br /> <br />"Relocation Expenses" as used herein mean costs <br />(including costs of insurance premiums) incurred for <br />transporting ordinary and customary household items <br />including, but not limited to, household furniture and <br />furnishings, clothing, chinaware, crystal, linens, <br />household utensils, hand tools, lawn and garden <br />equipment, household utili ties (washers, dryers, and <br />similar equipment), books, and similar household goods <br />and items, but excluding costs of transporting animals, <br />plants, building materials, firewood, recreational <br />vehicles, boats, airplanes, extraordinarily heavy or <br /> <br />------,..----..------ <br />
