<br />In-Lieu Hours - In-Lieu Hours are established to recognize the inherent <br />and distinctive terms and conditions of employment of Senior Executive <br />classifications. These positions are distinguished from all other <br />merit system positions in that they serve solely at the pleasure of the <br />City Manager or appointing authority in an exempt at will capacity, <br />they may be removed without cause, and they are expected to work on <br />call numerous hours beyond the regular work week without any additional <br />form of compensation. <br /> <br />In partial recognition of the extra work hours expected of these <br />positions, in-lieu hours are established. <br /> <br />Executive Service Personnel who serve as Senior Executives are eligible <br />to receive one-hundred sixty (160) hours per calendar year of in-lieu <br />hours. This leave may be taken as time off or paid in cash for any <br />portion of this leave remaining as of December 31 of the calendar year. <br />Newly appointed Senior Executives who have served less than one full <br />calendar year may receive a prorated portion of this leave at the <br />discretion of the City Manager. <br /> <br />Holidays - The following are recognized holidays: <br /> <br />Memorial Day (observed on the last <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day (observed on the first Monday in September) <br />Admission Day (observed September 9) <br />Veterans Day (observed November 11) <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />The Day After Thanksgiving <br />Christmas Eve <br />Christmas Day <br />New Year's Eve <br />One Administrative Holiday <br />At the option of the employee, an employee may receive <br />eight (8) hours of pay at his/her straight-time rate of <br />pay in lieu of the administrative holiday. <br /> <br />Holiday - In the event that Martin Luther King Day is recognized as a <br />local holiday for any bargaining unit, it shall also be a holiday for <br />the Executive Service/Confidential Group. <br /> <br />New Year's Day <br />Washington's Birthday (observed on the third Monday in <br />February) <br />Monday in May) <br /> <br />Work on a Ho 1 i day - An emp 1 oyee who is requ i red, to work on any of the <br />holidays listed above shall receive instead a paid day off on the <br />workday either preceeding or following the holiday as determined by the <br />department head. <br /> <br />Holiday During Vacation - In the event any of the h01idays above occur <br />while an employee is on vacation or sick leave, the holiday shall not <br />be charged as vacation or sick leave. <br /> <br />Sick Leave - Sick leave with pay shall be granted to all regular <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />...__._-~-_.... ..--.-.. _..-~_...__.~.... ..._.__. <br />
