Any authorization for a leave of absence without <br />pay shall be made in writing by the Personnel Officer and the <br />department head. <br /> <br />During an approved leave of absence, the employee shall not engage in <br />gainful employment unless authorized to do so by written permission of <br />the City. The City may cancel the leave of absence or terminate any <br />employee who violates the terms and conditions of the written <br />permission for the leave. <br /> <br />Hours of Work - The regular workweek shall be forty (40) hours per <br />week. <br /> <br />Overtime - This overtime provision shall apply only to non-exempt <br />Executive Service Personnel. <br /> <br />Work performed in excess of forty (40) hours in one (1) week shall <br />constitute overtime. Work performed in excess of eight (8) consecutive <br />hours, or ten (10) hours for those employees in a 4/10 plan, in one (1) <br />day (exclusive of lunch period) shall constitute overtime. <br /> <br />All overtime must be authorized by the department head and documented <br />on time cards. <br /> <br />One (1) hour of administrative leave will be granted for each hour of <br />overtime worked, up to a maximum of forty (40) hours per calendar year. <br />Administrative leave not used by December 31 shall be paid off at the <br />straight time rate. <br /> <br />After the accrual of forty (40) hours of administrative leavè, <br />management unit employees shall be paid for overtime on a straight time <br />basis, up to a maximum of forty (40) additional hours beyond the <br />40-hour administrative leave accrual per year. <br /> <br />Upon the prior written authorization of the City Manager, Executive <br />Service Personnel may earn an additional forty (40) hours overtime at <br />the straight time rate. In no event shall an employee receive more <br />than a combined total of more than one-hundred and twenty (120) hours <br />per calendar year of administrative leave and overtime as outlined <br />above. <br /> <br />Employees who have earned a minimum of forty (40) hours administrative <br />leave in the preceding calendar year, may upon the written request of <br />the employee, be advanced forty (40) hours of administrative leave in <br />the following calendar year. No additional administrative leave or <br />overtime wi 11 be granted to such employee until' the employee has worked <br />a minimum of forty (40) hours overtime in the calendar year the <br />administrative leave was advanced. <br /> <br />In the event an employee, who was advanced administrative leave <br />pursuant to this section, does not work a minimum of forty (40) hours <br />overtime or leaves City employment for what ever reason before working <br />a minimum of forty (40) hours of overtime, the advanced forty (40) <br />hours administrative leave shall be paid back to the City minus any <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />.---....--.--.-..-.----. ..,-...---......--. <br />
