<br />DES: di.J> 10/ II / 91 <br /> <br />(#22) <br /> <br />0 RIG I N A L <br /> <br />10/21/91 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11628 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO RELATING TO <br />FUNDING FOR REHABILITATION OF STREETS UTILIZED BY <br />TRANSIT VEHICLES - PHASE III <br /> <br />WHEREAS, certain streets within San Mateo County ("County") <br /> <br />utilized by public transit vehicles, including streets located in <br /> <br />the City Redwood City are deteriorating from such use and require <br /> <br />rehabilitation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />local <br /> <br />jurisdictions <br /> <br />responsible <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />maintenance <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />these <br /> <br />streets <br /> <br />lack <br /> <br />sufficient <br /> <br />funds <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />their <br /> <br />repair; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City is reconstructing Chestnut <br /> <br />Steet (the "Project"); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Project qualifies for Federal Aid Urban ("FAU") <br /> <br />funds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, FAU funds normally appropriated for other transit <br /> <br />purposes have been made available to the City by the San Mateo <br /> <br />County Transit District ("SAMTRANS") for the Project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said FAU funds may be used by City on the Project <br /> <br />in lieu of City monies, and City wishes to transfer City monies <br /> <br />to the County in an amount equivalent to the FAU funds to be made <br /> <br />available to City for the Project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, County will distribute said City monies to local <br /> <br />jurisdictions <br /> <br />(including <br /> <br />City) <br /> <br />as <br /> <br />specified <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />that <br /> <br />document <br /> <br />entitled <br /> <br />II Program <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />Rehabilitation <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Streets <br /> <br />Utilized <br /> <br />by <br /> <br />Transit Vehicles - Phase III"; and <br />
