<br />The painting bids will have to be rejected and rebid- at a-later date because of confusion <br />on the part of the bidders as to the correct bid opening date. The amount of this <br />subcontract, estimated at $25,000, is not enough to hold up the rest of the work. A <br />subsequent bid opening will be conducted to ascertain the lowest responsible bidder for <br />this trade. <br /> <br />It is anticipated that construction will start sometime in mid February 2000, with <br />completion targeted for mid December 2000. <br /> <br />A complete copy of the bid documents is available for review in the office of the <br />Manager of Engineering and Construction. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />The total cost for construction of the New Fire Station is appropriated in the 1998/99 <br />Capital Improvement Program (as supplemented by City Council action, 4/5/99).-'- <br /> <br />.".
